Again this year all schools traditionally will celebrate a merry holiday of Maslenitsa!
The dates of Maslenitsa change every year according to the beginning of the Orthodox Great Lent. The most important traditions during Maslenitsa are eating pancakes (blinis), making and then burning a brightly dressed straw effigy of Maslenitsa, sledding, and various outdoor activities and merrymaking.
Teachers of all centers prepared fun programs for children with games, song-singing, and dancing. Kids will of course do some Maslenitsa related crafts, decorate and eat pancakes, listen to Russian fairy-tales.
